Antarctica, with about 90% of the planet's ice, is around 14 million square kilometres, being the largest icy zone on Earth. There are also glaciers in the Arctic, Greenland and Patagonia.
Glaciers have great responsibility for the environmental balance, serving as a survival territory for thousands of species.
