While you were washing your teeth, for sure that your parents told you that you should not eat the toothpaste ... But, why shouldn't we eat it? ... if it tastes so good?! What are the ingredients in the toothpaste and what are they for? It's time for you to become a scientist in the bathroom, explore and make your own toothpaste.
There are historical records that toothpaste was already being used since the Egyptians time, which means about 3000 years BC. It started to be produced from ashes or pulverized egg shells and was used to remove the remains of food that were accumulated in the teeth, since, as small blades of ash or egg shells served as an abrasive, eliminating and polishing the teeth. Only in a later stage water was added to these substances, giving the mixture a pasty consistency.

This activity comes under the program #cienciavivaathome. From the kitchen to the bathroom, even walking through the garage, no room was left out: after all, science is everywhere!
